Satkhira bigots threaten tough agitation

Religious bigots yesterday threatened to take up strong agitation programmes including strike if one of its members who was arrested Tuesday, is not released immediately.Mufti Nur Hossain Nurani, senior nayeb-e-amir of International Khatme Nabuwat Movement, Bangladesh (IKNMB), in a statement yesterday alleged that the officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station arrested Ramjan Nagar UP Member Surat Ali Gazi on May 31 in 'a false case'. He accused the local police officials of conniving with the Ahmadiyyas to weaken the ongoing anti-Ahmadiyya campaign. He said Khatme Nabuwat will teach those, who are hatching conspiracy against the outfit, a good lesson. Nurani demanded the authorities immediately withdraw the case filed against Shyamnagar IKNMB leader Surat Ali. Police arrested Surat Ali for assaulting an Ahmadiyya on Sunday night. Khatme Nabuwat brought out processions at the upazila headquarters on May 31. Besides, they staged a sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner's Office.
