Four-party supporter gunned down

Unidentified assailants yesterday chopped and gunned down a supporter of the four-party candidate in the Narsingdi-1 by-polls and wounded two others in Karimganj in the sadar upazila.Witnesses said the assailants attacked the three in front of a makeshift election office of Khairul Kabir Khokon at around 8:30pm. The attackers left Shahidullah Farazi, 40, son of Ali Asgar Farazi, dead on the spot. Injured Khalil Mia, 30, and Azizur Rahman, 31, were admitted to Narsingdi General Hospital with critical cuts. Khokon accused independent candidate Shahadat Hossain Munna's cadres of the murder and attack. Munna refuted the allegation saying he was in the town during the attack and did not know anything about it.
