Shibir cadre bullet-hit while fleeing from cop custody

Arrested listed criminal and top leader of infamous Nasir Bahini Dulal Uddin alias Munna, took bullets while trying to escape from police custody in Fatikchhari upazila under the district on Friday night.Police in the guise of devotees had arrested Munna from a mosque at Mondakini in Hathazari upazila after the Juma prayers that day. After recovering one AK47 rifle, one DBBL gun, and 122 bullets of AK47 from Munna's village at Mondakini, police set out with Munna for another search to recover illegal firearms at Pynedong under neighbouring Fatikchhari upazila. Munna received bullets in the right leg when police opened fire as the criminal tried to flee, police said. He is undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital under police custody. Munna, accused in eight criminal cases including two for murders, took the leadership of Islami Chhatra Shibir's criminal group Nasir Bahini after Yakub and Hamid were killed in shootout with police last year.
