A crime against humanity

A few days ago "World No Tobacco Day" knocked at our door. The day was 31 May. Every year this day comes and goes with various kinds of themes and slogans. It is now an open secret that smoking is eating up our blooming lives every moment. It is going to swallow the human civilisation. Smoking is too dangerous for millions of lives all over the world. Because it is made up of 600 additives and 4000 chemicals which cause various kinds of cancers and other life-threatening diseases from whose clutches we cannot escape. So smoking is a serious threat to our existence on earth.

Needless to say, smoking is a leading cause of lung cancer, chronic bronchitis, .. emphysema and heart diseases. It causes wrinkled thin skin, and gum disease. Besides those, smoking delays healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers and increases the chances of still birth neo-natal death and low-birth weight.

Cigarette smoking is spiced with nicotine which attracts smokers and later opens the door for diseases and death. Nicotine is poisonous. It increases heartbeat, blood pressure and demand for oxygen by the heart and contracts blood vessels near skin.

So smoking is a curse to civilisation and a crime against humanity.
