Reefat Bin Sattar made a winning start in the Greenwich University FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in an attempt to gain his desired rating for the Grand Master norm.Reefat won the first round board against Mohammad Ali at the National Sports Council conference room to share the lead along with ten other players. In the day's other matches, Grand Master Ziaur Rahman beat Lavlu, Rajib beat Hasan, Rakib beat Sohel, Parag beat Uten, Javed beat Firoz, Shakil beat Anwar, Delwar beat Debraj and Rabin beat Lavlu. Amin got walkover against Monir. A total of 90 players, splitting into two groups, are taking part in the competition.
