Globe-trotting Iranian in city


Iranian cyclist Abbas Razaghi, now in Dhaka on a world tour, called on Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) officials yesterday.

Razaghi, whose mission is to spread the light of Olympism and extend the bonds of friendship between nations, had discussions with BOA deputy secretary-general Ishtiaque Ahmed at the BOA.

MR Hashmi, the cultural councilor of the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka and Col. Wali Ullah, director and COO of the BOA, were also present.

Razaghi, who began his trip on April 6, 2004, has already travelled through 17 countries. He will leave Dhaka for India on July 8.
