Detective Branch (DB) police yesterday pressed charges against Sergeant Julfikar Ali accusing him of robbing a businessman of Tk 14.47 lakh in local and foreign currencies.DB Inspector Shamsul Islam, investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dhaka, showing 22 people as prosecution witnesses. The charges against Julfikar were primarily proved, the IO mentioned in the charge sheet. Police arrested Julfikar on June 29 on charge of looting the money from moneychanger Azhar Ali. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner SM Mizanur Rahman said they will continue drive to recover the looted money.
