Speakers tell roundtable

The Consumer Trust (TCT), a new watchdog to protect the interest of the consumers, was launched yesterday.The TCT will set up consumer information and advocacy centre to make people aware about consumers' rights. A roundtable was organised to mark the launching ceremony of the trust at the National Press Club in the city. Speakers at the roundtable said most foods in the market are adulterated. They called for turning the consumers' rights campaign into a social movement. The speakers urged the members of the civil society to come forward to launch the mass campaign in the country. Mohammad Mahsin, member of TCT, presented a keynote paper at the roundtable. TCT Chairperson Barrister Manjur Hasan and Coordinator Kamal Hosen Mintu also spoke.
