Presidential Amnesty
B Chy demands inquiry

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury yesterday demanded an inquiry into the incident regarding the presidential amnesty for a BNP leader convicted in a double-murder case.

He also called for making public all the papers relating to the issue of amnesty for Mohiuddin Ahmed Jhintu, president of Sweden unit of BNP.

The former president was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of free distribution of herbal, medicinal and fruit saplings at the party's Segunbagicha office in the city.

Hailing the drive against adulteration of food items, the BDB president said that according to a government organisation, adulterated fruit juice was produced at a factory owned by a state minister. But no action has yet been taken against him, Badruddoza added.

Feroz M Hasan, acting secretary general of the BDB, was present at the sapling distribution ceremony.
