PM condemns attack

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has strongly condemned the bomb attacks in the country, including the capital city Dhaka.

Khaleda described the incident as heinous, cowardly, conspiratorial and well planned acts of terrorism. She expressed her deep condolences to those killed in the bomb attacks and sympathy for those who were injured.

In a message sent from Beijing where she is now on an official visit, the prime minister said: "Expressing solidarity with the feelings of my dear countrymen I want to say that the attackers are enemies of the country, people, peace, humanity and democracy."

They want to create panic in people's mind for realising an evil design by destablising the country, she said.

The prime minister urged people, irrespective of political affiliations, to resist such heinous acts.

The prime minister sent directives to Dhaka to identify those involved in the bomb attacks, the conspirators behind the scene and for their arrest. She also asked all concerned to ensure proper treatment of those injured in the bomb attacks.
