Transport strike to continue in Pabna

Leaders of Pabna bus-truck owners associations and transport workers unions yesterday said they will continue the transport strike in the district till their demands are met.

They enforced a transport strike in the district on Sunday to press their demands which include a ban on plying of locally assembled motorised vehicles like Karimon and Nasimon, steps against alleged toll collection and hassle by a section of policemen on highways and ensuring road safety.

The decision to continue the strike was announced at a press conference by transport owners and workers’ leaders here yesterday.
