"The prude and prudence"

I hardly miss the weekly article of Mr. M J Akbar published in your daily. His articles are in fact the demonstrations of his scholarly quality, his humanity and humour and the acuteness of his perception. His latest piece "The prude and prudence" is no exception.

I therefore feel embarrassed to point out that this brilliant piece of writing suffers from factual mistake, admitting that the mistake has not affected the quality of the article in the least. While tacitly approving of the collapse of consent in the matter of wedding, Mr. Akbar has asked the readers to recall Dev Anand's classic film with Asha Parekh, "Solwa Saal". But it was Waheeda Rahman. I believe she was first introduced in the film industry as a heroine in the 'Solwa Saal' and not Asha Parekh.

Also, it will be an act of impertinence on my part to question Mr. Akbar's choice of words in his writing. But could he not have used a more polished word than 'orgasmic' in describing the mischievous but harmless look of the teen aged girls in the class-room, as shown on the ad on a new range of watches ?
