ASHES UPDATE


Australia crashed to 188-4 in their second innings, still 71 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat, after tea on the third day of the fourth Ashes Test yesterday.

The tourists lost three wickets for 68 runs with Justin Langer (61), Matthew Hayden (26), skipper Ricky Ponting (48), Damien Martyn (13) the batsmen to fall.

Michael Clarke was batting on 19 and Simon Katich on 14.
