JCD factions clash at CU

At least four people were injured as rival factions of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) clashed on Chittagong University campus yesterday.The incident disrupted shuttle trains service for half-an-hour, causing sufferings to thousands of homebound students. The clash began at around 1:15pm at the CU Railway Station when President of newly formed committee MR Chowdhury brought out a procession and the rival group led by former vice president Ferdous Morshed attempted to prevent them. The two groups clashed for about 20 minutes before the police and CU Proctor Dr Al Amin rushed to the scene and calmed down both sides. Both MR Chowdhury and Ferdous blamed each other for creating disturbances on the campus. Earlier, the feuding groups clashed twice over newly declared committee on Thursday night and Tuesday noon. Six activists were injured in the two clashes.
