Bishwaser Rang to be screened at Montreal Film Festival

Bishwaser Rang (Colour of Faith), a film directed by young Bangladeshi director Saiful Wadud Helal, will be screened in the 'Documentaries of the World' section of the 29th Montreal World Film Festival that began on August 26.

The festival will run through September 5, says a press release.

This documentary is going to raise the question of fundamentalism versus secular culture in countries like Bangladesh.

The 'Bishwaser Rang' is set in a remote village in Bangladesh, known as Badarpur.

The film depicts how religion and culture come together to give people a unique kind of identity. It questions any essential conception of religious identity, and calls for a deeper look at the colours that faith might assume.
