The programme at the Department's auditorium began with the distribution of flowers and the presentation of songs on rain. female students received guests with flowers and staged a traditional dance.

RU Vice Chancellor Prof Altaf Hossain was present as chief guest while RU Registrar Professor Abdus Salam was special guest at the function. Department chairman Professor Abdul Matin Talukder presided over the programme.

After the speeches, department students presented a cultural programme that included traditional gombhira songs and a drama. Department teacher Professor Ataur Rahman Raju conducted the programme.
