Russel-2, YMC-2

Moroccan forward Majid struck twice as last year runners-up Sheikh Russel drew 2-2 against relegation-bound Young-mens Club Fakirerpool in the Premier Bank Premier Division Football League at the Bangaban-dhu National Stadium yesterday.

The outcome pushed last season surprise package Russel's collection to 23 points from 16 matches. They remain in fifth position while Youngmens were second from bottom with 12 points from the same number of outings.

Impressive Youngmens took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Robin found the net by a right-footed placing shot after receiving the ball from Baten.

After the lemon break Majid equalised for Russel in the second minute when he headed home off a Tanveer cross.

Ripon Khan again stunned the giants as his sudden blistering right-footer left the opponent custodian Biplob hapless but Majid spated Russel's blushes with a 79th minute goal.
