With a view to enhancing management performance of the professionals in the competitive world, a five-day workshop on 'Comprehensive Business Management Excellence in Globalised Market' began yesterday in Dhaka. East West Corporation, a management-training institute, and Malaysia-based institute of Training and Development ITD (Institute of Training and Development), have jointly organised the workshop. The Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dato Ashaary Bin Sani inaugurated the workshop. The Malaysian envoy hoped that the training programme will help Bangladeshi professionals face the challenges of globalised business management. Designed on a mini-MBA model, the workshop is expected to provide an insight into dealing with different spheres of business management, organisers said. 28 participants, including business entrepreneurs, managers, professionals and young executives from different national and multinational companies are taking part in the workshop. Amjad Khan Chowdhury, chief executive officer of Pran-RFL Group, Syed Manzur Elahi, chairman of Apex Group, Rokia A Rahman, chairman of Arlinks Group and former advisor to the caretaker government, Anis A Khan, CEO and managing director of IDLC, and Samson H Chowdhury, chairman of Square Group, will alternately attend the workshop and share their experience as guest speakers everyday. Maia Chee Lean Sim, director of ITD, and MH Rahman, managing partner of East-West Corporation and CEO of Arenco, among others, spoke at the inauguration.
