Four people were killed in three road accidents in the capital in the early hours yesterday.

A speeding vehicle knocked down two people -- Sajeda Begum, 42, and her nephew Sirajul Islam, 30, -- when they were crossing the road in Uttara under Biman Bandar Police Station.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and died there at around 4:45pm.

Md Jasim Uddin, 16, was found injured in North Jatrabari after being run over by a vehicle in the early hours yesterday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the DMCH.

In Gulistan, a speeding vehicle ran over an unidentified woman of about 50 near the roundabout at around 4:00am. A passer-by took her to the DMCH where she died soon after her admission.
