UCEP Bangladesh executives
M Sirajul Islam and Dr Ubaidur Rob were elected chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Board of Governors of UCEP-Bangladesh on August 30 for the period 2005-06, says a press release. Niloufer Mahmood has been co-opted as a member of the 7-member Board of Governors for the same period. M Islam is a former member of the Parliament and one of the signatories of the constitution of independent Bangladesh. He is also the President of Dhaka Mahanagar Samity and Old Dhaka Community. Dr Rob is the country director to the Population Council Office in Bangladesh. He is responsible for programme management including providing technical assistance in development, management and evaluation of different research projects.
