Daily Star take on BSS today


The Daily Star will launch their campaign in the Pepsi-DRU inter-house six-a-side cricket tournament today when they take on BSS at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium.

The other fixtures on the day are: Samakal vs Desh Bangla, Inquilab vs Khabarpatra, New Age vs Jai Jai Din, Bangla Bazar vs ABAS, Amader Somoy vs BDNEWS and Manaba-jamin vs Independent.

The tournament of the media-men began yesterday at the same venue.

Food and Disaster Management Minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yousuf inaugurated the meet.

Following are the opening day's results: Sangram (76/4) beat BSS (68/3) by 8 runs; Amar Desh (95/2) beat Bangla Bazar Patrika (34/4) by 65 runs; Bhorer Kagoj (97/3) defeated Deshbangla (10/5) by 87 runs; Ajker Kagoj (94/2) outplayed Amader Somoy (31/5) by 63 runs; NTV (53/0) outclassed Bhorer Dak (49/4) by 5 wickets and Janakantha (73/5) defeated The Independent (52/5) by 21 runs.
