Kacharipara in final round

Jamalpur Kacharipara Sporting Club advanced into the final round of the Nitol-Tata National Football League when they registered a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Probaho Sangsad of Naogaon at the Jamalpur Stadium yesterday.Nigerian striker Patrick, who played for Dhaka Wanderers in the just concluded Premier League, scored the all-important goal for Kacharipara from a penalty in the 19th minute. He stepped up to convert the 12-yarder after referee Ibrahim Nesar pointed at the dreaded spot following a foul in the forbidden zone. The Jamalpur side is the second team to book a berth in the 10-team final round after Rangamati Mohammedan Sporting Club.
