SAIC governing board meeting begins today

The 19th meeting of the Governing Board of SAARC Agricultural Information Centre (SAIC) begins in the conference room of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) at Farmgate here today.State Minister for Agriculture Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will inaugurate the three-day function as the chief guest. Advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Reaz Rahman will be present as special guest. Pema Lhamo, programme director, Information and Communication Services, the Ministry of Agriculture, Bhutan, will preside over the meeting as the chairperson. During the three-day deliberations, the meeting will consider the activities of SAIC and finalise the programmes and budget provisions for 2006, a press release said. Members of the Governing Board of SAIC will participate in the meeting from different member countries of the SAARC. Directors from the SAARC Secretariat, Nepal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh will also join the meeting, the release said.
