Overbridge wanted

I am working in one of the top ranking private universities which is on the Mirpur Road. On one side of the road is the university and on the other side of it is a big shopping centre. Though the road is separated into two parts by iron fences, there is a crossing for passing from our university end to the other end. The employees and students of our university, who live in Dhanmondi residential area, have to take great risks while moving across the road to the workplace, as there is no traffic light to control oncoming traffic. Sometimes we can see more than one policemen standing by the side of the road but they are so inefficient that they simply don't know when to allow the traffic to move, and when to stop it. Vehicles moving from one side to the other create huge traffic jams at times. So, in view of such a situation, the authorities concerned should build an overbridge immediately or set a traffic light to avoid serious accidents.
