Berger young architects' award handed over


The prize giving ceremony of second "Berger Young Architects' Award 2005" was held in Dhaka on Thursday.

Architect Mohammad Zakiul Islam has won the Berger Young Architects' Award 2005 for designing the Ferdous Nasir Charity Clinic located in Gazipur.

Khadem Ali, president of Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB), and Masih Ul Karim, managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd, handed over crest, certificate and a cheque for Tk 50,000 to the winner architect. Architect Muzharul Islam received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the function.

"This biennial award, organised with the assistance of IAB, aim at encouraging young architects of Bangladesh," said the Berger Paints Bangladesh MD while speaking at the function.
