Mili rape and murder case stayed for two months

The Women and Children Repression Prevention Court yesterday stayed the proceedings in the Mili rape and murder case for two months after the father of the victim filed a time petition.Judge AKM Sirajul Islam issued the stay order as Mansur Rahman, father of Mili, seeks to transfer the case to another court. During the period, Mansur will file a petition with the High Court for transferring the case to another court for fair justice. Earlier, he also filed a Naraji (no-confidence) petition after the investigating authority submitted a final report recommending the release of the three accused. Meanwhile, the city dwellers held a rally on the court premises, demanding punishment to the culprits. Mili's mother Hasina Begum presided over the rally.
