Birth centennial of Sachin Dev Burman observed
On the occasion of the birth centennial of the legendary singer Sachin Dev Burman, the government of Tripura State, organised a three-day programme in Agartala, the capital of the state, recently, says a press release. A three-member team from Bangladesh participated in the programme. Led by Gulam Kuddus, the General Secretary of Sammiloto Sanskritik Jote, the two artistes from Bangladesh were Bipul Bhattacharya and Rupu Khan. The chief guest of the programme was State Minister of Tripura, Manik Sarkar while Gulam Kuddus was present as the special guest. In the inaugural session Rupu Khan handed over Burman's portrait to the chairperson of the programme Anil Sarkar. In the closing ceremony Rupu Khan and Bipul rendered some of the Sachin's popular numbers.
