Fame Gurukul
Qazi-Ruprekha to settle in Mumbai
They are finally on the road to fame. Qazi Tauqeer and Ruprekha Banerjee are the 'Fame Jodi' and are, "On top of the world." Says a visibly excited Qazi, "I don't know why people are crazy about me. But I feel my USP was my performance and willpower. I am so touched by all the love and support I got from my fans. It's unbelievable."

The hit reality show came to an end today, after the couple walked away with a contract of Rs 10 million with a Sony BMG and a Maruti Alto.

Ruprekha admits that she was confident throughout that she would win the contest. "I was just concentrating on working hard and going after my goal."

The duo has decided that Mumbai will be their base. "There's no question of going back to Kashmir. Mumbai's the place to be. Everything is here -- Bollywood and the music industry. Along with all the adulation and money I have a lot of responsibility now and I am all geared up to prove that I am the best," says Qazi.

Agrees Ruprekha, "Right now I have to look for a house here and I intend to make a mark for myself." Talking about her hometown, Kolkata she adds, "I spoke to my family in Kolkata and they were so excited. In fact, there were celebrations all over the city!"

The 'jodi' has become icons. Talking about their growing popularity Qazi says, "I am surprised when people take my mom's autograph. I will try and go back to Kashmir for Eid and see people's reactions there."

Qazi and Ruprekha are now preparing to record their first album Yeh Pal and are getting ready to continue their journey of success.
