Nobel winner Pinter to skip banquet

Harold Pinter, who won this year's Nobel prize for literature, will not attend next month's gala ceremony and banquet to pick up his award for health reasons, the Nobel foundation said on Wednesday. The writer will travel to Stockholm a few days before the ceremony to hold the traditional laureate's lecture on December 7, which is already sold out, but will not stay on for the festivities, it said.
