Two albums, one on classical and the other containing modern Bangla songs by Prithwiraj Baiddya, were released recently. The classical album includes a presentation of three ragas, Ahir Bhairo, Khamaj (Thumri) and Durga, while the modern music album, titled Ragangkure, includes eight Bangla songs. The upcoming Prithwiraj, though a classical vocalist, prefers to perform other genres, such as Tagore, Nazrul and modern Bangla songs. Currently he is receiving training from Raghunandan Panshikar, a student of the living legend Kishori Amonkar. Prithwiraj, began his classical training at the tender age of three, under the guidance of his mother, Durba Chowdhury and father Tapan Kanti Baiddya, who are well known in musical circles.
