Defending champions Leonine Chess Club blanked Farashganj Sporting Club 4-0 in the 14th round to maintain their solo lead in the Dutch-Bangla Bank First Division Chess League at the federation hall-room yesterday.

The win extended their tally to 49.5 points.

Title aspirants Muktijoddha Sangsad joined Bangladesh Biman to share the second spot as both secured 48 points each.

Biman beat Mohakhali Prodip Sangha 3.5-0.5 while Muktijoddha earned full points against Shaheed Mufti Kafe Daba Dal by 4-0 win.

In the day's other matches, Destiny 2000 beat Sonali Bank 2.5-1.5, BJMC beat Friends Chess Power 4-0, Anushilan Daba KC beat Faith Chess Club 3-1 while Titas Club drew 2-2 with Narayanganj City Chess Club and Dhaka University Chess Team drew with Dolphin Chess Club 2-2.

The fifteenth or last round of games will start today at the same venue.
