A visiting Chinese business delegation here yesterday called for efforts by businesspeople to develop road communication between Bangladesh and China.The delegation from Yunnan Provincial Chamber of Commerce (YPCC) of China also invited Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) to join as observer the Joint Economic Quadrangle, a conglomeration of business associations and chambers of China, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. The delegation, led by Su Zhengguo, was exchanging views with Chittagong chamber leaders. The Chinese delegates also said they are keen to import goods including frozen food, leather and jute-products from Bangladesh. CCCI President Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed called for formation of a sub-regional bloc comprising Bangladesh, Yunnan province of China, Myanmar and the seven north-eastern states of India to boost economic co-operation.
