SEC warns two firms

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday issued warning letters to Meghna Shrimp Culture Limited and Pharmaco International Limited, their directors and company secretaries for violation of a SEC notification and failure to submit complete reports on AGMs.

The capital market watchdog in a press statement said Meghna Shrimp Culture re-fixed its book closure date relating to the company's 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th annual general meetings to August 1, 2005 instead of July 27, 2005 and violated the SEC's notification.

About Pharmaco International, the SEC statement said the company failed to provide information on time, venue, book closure and dividend while sending notices on its 22nd, 23rd and 24th AGMs to the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
