Monoranjan takes oath as MP

Monoranjan Shil Gopal elected to parliament from Dinajpur-1 in by-election took oath as member of parliament (MP) yesterday. Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar administered oath to Monoranjan at his office at Sangsad Bhanban. Monoranjan, an independent candidate, won the December 5 by-election defeating the ruling alliance candidate Altaf Uddin Molla with a huge margin. The seat fell vacant at the death of Mohammad Abdul Al Kafi of Jamaat on September 12.
