Suspected JMB man remanded in Sylhet

A suspected JMB militant rounded up at Chhotadesh village in Kanaighat upazila on Sunday was remanded for three days Monday.

Kanaighat police recovered 800 JMB leaflets and posters written in Arabic from the house of Nurul Haque Chowdhury, a returnee of the Afghan war.

Initially, he denied taking part in the Afghan war. He however admitted to have visited Saudi Arabia and Pakistan previously, an official said.

Meanwhile, another JMB suspect Safar Ali arrested by the BDR from Lobhachhara border Sunday night was handed over to Kanaighat police on Monday. BDR recovered a bag containing four packets of explosives, six fuses and 11 detonators from him.
