Resentment within BCCI
Pti, Kolkata
The new Sharad Pawar-led regime in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) faces resentment from its two committee members, who demanded the selectors 'redress the wrong' done to Sourav Ganguly by reinstating him in the national squad."It's a grave issue. The entire country is angry. Is there anything more to say? I am deeply disturbed," said Gopal Bose, who has been named chief of the Eastern zonal wing of the National Cricket Academy after the change of guard in the BCCI. Terming the decision as unfair, Bose told PTI "It's akin to hitting somebody below the belt. It's Murder in the Cathedral." Raja Venkat, member (East Zone) of the newly constituted media committee, said the selectors had committed a "blasphemy" by omitting Ganguly. "No one can justify what they have done. He was returning to form. The boy was taking two steps forward. But now they have pushed him three steps behind," said Venkat, a member of Bengal's last Ranji Trophy winning team.
