NSU student rescued after his abduction by driver

Gulshan police on Thursday rescued a BBA student of North South University (NSU), who was abducted by their car driver on December 27 for Tk 20 lakh ransom.

Police arrested abductor M Selim, 30, and his three accomplices.

Carrying NSU student Foysal Zaman Khan Sanjoy in their family car, driver Selim abducted him from their Baridhara residence on December 27.

Sanjoy's expatriate father Helal Khan was scheduled to come to Bangladesh from USA the next day.

Selim drove back to the house alone and the family members observed something suspicious about Selim while they were receiving a phone call with the demand of Tk 20 lakh as ransom, family sources said.

Selim also started receiving frequent phone calls that added to their doubt.

Sanjoy's family members filed an abduction case accusing driver Selim and house peon Bachchu Miah and police arrested the two.

Following their statement, police rescued Sanjoy from a shanty owned by Selim in Shankathra village under Joydebpur thana of Gazipur district and arrested Titu Hasan and Aminul Islam who were guarding a tied up Sanjoy there.
