Gigabyte launches first silent-pipe II ATI Radeon VGA Card

Gigabyte Technology announced its newest addition, the GV-RX16T256V-RH VGA card on December 27, to the Silent-Pipe II-series of fan-less high performance graphics cards that feature a proprietary front-flow thermal module and revolutionary design employing natural convection to keep the GPU cool, says a press release.

Developed as a total green computing solution, the card's quiet operation reduces noise pollution in it's immediate vicinity while being lead, mercury and cadmium free (amongst others) for RoHS compliance. Rounding off it's suitability for consumer electronics quality video, the GIGABYTE GV-RX16T256V-RH fully supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 and uses the 256 MB GDDRIII video memory to ensure high performance PC gaming and digital media playback.

As the industry's foremost heat pipe solution, Silent-Pipe II technology from GIGABYTE outperforms standard mainstream VGA coolers that employ noisy fans. Indeed, during GIGABYTE lab testing the GV-RX16T256V-RH kept the ATI Radeon X1600 XT VPU a good 30% cooler than general active solutions during normal activity. Even during heavy 3D rendering work loads, the GV-RX16T256V-RH produces unrivaled visual quality without unnecessary noise.

The GIGABYTE GV-RX16T256V-RH boasts Avivo video and display enhancement technology, the complete 2D and video processing solution that enables superior quality High-Definition (HD) visual experiences on a PC. Moreover, the card also supports VIVO functionality for video editing applications.

In complying with the European Union's Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, the GV-RX16T256V-RH is environmentally friendly from a chain of materials, components, production and package perspective. As a member of the global community, GIGABYTE products are quickly transitioning to RoHS compliance and leading the way to green computing for all.
