2 'cattle thieves' lynched

An angry mob slaughtered two people at a village in Phulpur upazila Friday midnight suspecting them of cattle theft.The dead are identified as Kashem Ali, 38 and Abu Sayeed, 36 of Sakhallya village in Phulpur. Police said Sayeed along with Kashem came to his in-laws' house in the same village. They were roaming at about midnight arousing suspicion among the villagers that they are cattle thieves. The villagers held the two and beat them up. At one stage, they slaughtered Sayeed and Kashem. Police recovered the bodies yesterday morning. The victims were accused in a number of cattle theft and robbery cases, the police said.
