The BCL enforced the strike demanding punishment to ICS activists involved in the Thursday's attack on its mourning procession. It also demanded removal of the CU proctor body in presence of which the ICS activists attacked injuring two BCL leaders.

Later, at a rally in front of Sholoshahar railway station, the leaders threatened to enforce an indefinite strike on the campus from January 17 unless their demands are met.

The agitating BCL activists during the strike barred students from going to the university at the railway station in the morning. Movement of the buses carrying teachers and students to and from the campus were also disrupted during the time.

However, the scheduled examinations of all departments were held.
