Sisimpur goes to Berlin
A Sisimpur live action film was selected from over 3, 600 global applicants as a finalist in the Berlinale Talent Campus, 2006, in Berlin, says a press release. The film, titled Children in a rainy day, was directed by Dipankar Sen Gupta Dipon, live action director of Sisimpur. The film was chosen in the five minute short film section of the competition. Children in a rainy day was originally shown on Sisimpur, a popular children's TV programme aired on BTV. Sisimpur is a co-production of Nayantara Communications and Sesame Workshop.Berlinale Talent Campus 2006 is the fourth year of the 56th Berlin International Film Festival and is inviting 500 filmmakers from around the world to attend the Talent Campus. The Campus will run from February 11-16. It is targetted at up and coming producers, directors, actors, cinematographers, screenwriters, editors, production designers, art directors, film score composers and sound designers. The storyline: A few initially bored village children discover the fun things they can do when they are stuck at home on a rainy day. The lively film gives the message that there are always plenty of interesting things to do--even when it is raining and they can't play outside.
