Rasul Nizam passes away
ORA Rasul Nizam, managing director of National Brokers Limited, Chittagong, passed away due to a massive heart attack in Dhaka yesterday afternoon at the age of 69, says a press release. Rasul Nizam, son of late OR Nizam of Chittagong, was a leading name in the tea industry. He had been the honorary consul of France in Chittagong for 35 years and received the Legion d'Honneur from the government of France. Rasul Nizam also served the Chittagong Stock Exchange and Bhatiary Golf & Country Club as its vice-president and the Rotary Club of Chittagong as president and had a host of other affiliations. His namaz-e-janaza will be held on the Jamiatul Falah Mosque premises in Chittagong after Asr prayers today (January 8, 2006). Rasul Nizam, an amiable personality, left behind his wife Sultana (Dolly) Nizam, daughter Rawaiya (Chinky) Seraj, son Rafay Nizam, son-in-law Ramzul Seraj, four grandchildren, four brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives, well-wishers, admirers and friends to mourn his death.
