Training for WHO fellows in medical education begins


Bangladesh for the first time has started training of the fellows of World Health Organisation (WHO) in medical education.

The Centre for Medical Education (CME) under the Directorate General of Health Services has set up a mechanism to conduct different postgraduate courses for doctors from home and abroad.

Two WHO fellows from Nepal received certificate after completing a short course of two months on Teaching Medical Science at CME conference room at Mohakhali yesterday.

CME Director Prof Fatima Parveen Chowdhury chaired the certificate giving ceremony while Prof AZM Zahid Hossain, dean of the medicine faculty of Dhaka University was present as chief guest.

Ambassador of Nepal Bhagirat Basnet, Prof AKM Shariful Islam, and Prof Humayun Kabir Talukder were present on the occasion.
