Man stabbed to death in city

A man was stabbed to death at Khilkhet Bazar in the city on Tuesday night over a previous enmity.

A group of unidentified miscreants beat and stabbed Shafiuddin Ahmed Ripon, 35, a CNF (Clearing and Forwarding) agent of North Bengal Enterprise at Zia International Airport as he went to Khilkhet Bazar that night.

Ratan, 18, who went to the bazar with Ripon told Daily Star that six to seven unidentified people beat Ripon and stabbed and left the scene. He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on duty doctors declared him dead.

Ripon, a resident of Uttara Jasimuddin Road, might have been killed over a previous enmity with his partner Mafiz, said Ripon's elder brother Rafikul Islam while filing a case at Khilkhet Police Station.
