Population Council chief arrives today

Population Council President Dr Peter J Donaldson and Vice-President Dr Anrudh Jain will arrive in Dhaka today on a two-day visit.The visit is part of the Asia tour by the Population Council president. During his brief stay in Dhaka, Dr Peter would meet the partners of the Population Council in Bangladesh, including health ministry, Department of Youth Development, USAID, UNFPA, CIDA, research organisations, and NGOs. The Population Council, based in New York, is the premier international organisation conducting research on emerging population issues since 1952 to improve the lives of people in the poorest countries. It has been providing technical assistance to the family planning programs of Bangladesh since mid-sixties.
