Court accepts supplementary charge sheet

The Barisal Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal yesterday accepted the supplementary charge sheet filed earlier in the Jhalakathi judges' murder case. Assistant judges Sohel Ahmed and Jagannath Parey were killed in a JMB suicide bomb attach in Khalakathi on November 4 last year. The supplementary charge sheet named as accused two JMB activists. They are Molla Omar alias Shakil Ahmed Sohel of Delduar in Tangail and Amzad alias Khaled Saifullah of Kawkhali in Pirojpur. Tribunal judge M A Matin ordered arrest of the two accused. He also ordered for attachment of their property if they can not be arrested and submission of a report to the court on January 27. The court did not fix the next date of hearing. The court was supposed to frame charges against the accused yesterday. Hearing for charge framing was deferred for the fifth time yesterday. JMB activists Mamun and Sultan, now under Barisal jail custody, were produced before the court yesterday.
