Case Against Pintu
Hearing rescheduled

Defence lawyers in the case, filed in connection with the shooting, did not plead for bail for Motiur Rahman Pintu during the scheduled hearing of the bail petition yesterday.

The lawyers, instead, prayed to the court to reschedule the hearing on Sunday.

They mentioned in their petition that they did not get necessary documents related to the case. So they prayed for adjournment of the hearing.

After hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Mamun Al Rashid granted the plea to reschedule the date.

Earlier on Tuesday, the defence lawyers also did not take part in the hearing of the bail petition.

A gang opened fire on the car showroom, Top Corporation, and vandalised four cars as the owner had refused to pay the gang a toll of Tk10 lakh.

Later, police arrested Pintu on Saturday night in this connection.
