Harun ur Rashid, a businessman of construction materials and resident of Dholaikhal in the city, was abducted by a gang of three Wednesday evening. The abductors then phoned Harun's father, demanding Tk 15 lakh ransom for the release of his son.

Being informed by Harun's father, members of the elite force raided a house in Sanarpar area and rescued Harun. They arrested two abductors named Swapan and Alauddin. Another member of the gang managed to flee.
