Highlight dev activities of alliance govt to people
Tarique asks JCD leaders

Senior Joint Secretary General of ruling BNP Tarique Rahman yesterday urged the grassroots leaders of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) to work and mobilise the local people in favour of the BNP ahead of next parliamentary election.

"You have to mobilise the local people and highlight the development activities of the alliance government to people," Tareque told a view exchange meeting of JCD, student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, at Teachers-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University as chief guest.

The central unit JCD organised the meeting with a view to holding representative meetings at six divisional headquarters in the first week of March. Presidents and general secretaries from 86 organisational districts of JCD joined the meeting.

The meeting decided that the JCD would complete formation of all union, ward, thana, college and city units committees by February 20. It will stage demonstration in front of the offices of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Thana Nirbahi Officers (TNOs) across the country and submit memorandums on February 12 and 13 demanding inclusion of eligible persons to voter roll, preparation of a new voter roll and cancellation of '64 lakh false voters'. They will form human chains in all the educational institutions on February 16 to press home their demands.

In addition, they will also stage demonstration in Sylhet protesting construction of Tipaimukh dam by India.

JCD President Azizul Bari Helal presided.
