ICC U-19 World Cup
Young Tigers stun Pakistan, move to Super League

Bangladesh inflicted a four-wicket defeat on defending champions Pakistan on Wednesday at the Nondescripts Cricket Club ground in Colombo to qualify for the Super League of the ICC Under-19 World Cup for the first time.

It was Bangladesh's second successive victory after a three-wicket triumph against New Zealand in the Group-A opener.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the only Test player in the squad, led from the front with a well-composed 46 to steer Bangladesh to 171-6 in 34.5 overs.

In the previous four editions of the Youth World Cup, Bangladesh never managed to qualify for the Super League stage for the Cup.

Left-arm spinner Sakib Al Hasan laid the foundation for the junior Tigers as he took four wickets for 34 to dismiss Pakistan for 170 in 43.1 overs.

Australia, India, hosts Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and England also confirmed their places in the eight-team Super League.

Bangladesh will play their last group match today against ICC associate members Uganda.
